Installation and storage
Storage
The camera has to be stored in the following conditions to prevent damage:
Temperature from -10°C to 70°C
Humidity from 10% to 90% (without condensation)
Overheating and cooling
The camera will generate heat while operating. The amount of heat generated depends on the computing power required for the image processing. Hight temperatures can damage the camera, that’s why, if the camera temperature exceeds 73°C the image acquisition and processing stops.
Because of this, you should prevent heat accumulation with sufficient cooling:
The camera should be mounted on an aluminum profile to facilitate heat dissipation.
To ensure heat dissipation on both sides, don’t mount the camera on the end of a profile.
Avoid mounting the camera to a steel surface, as thermal conductivity of steel is 10x worse compared to aluminum.
Don’t install the camera close to other heat sources to prevent the waste heat from increasing the temperature of the camera.
Lens mounting
Avoid contamination of the sensor and the lens by dust and airborne particles when mounting the lens to the device!
Therefore, the following points are very important:
Install the camera in an environment that is as dust free as possible!
Keep the lens mount covered if no lens is attached
Hold the camera downwards with unprotected sensor.
Avoid contact with any optical surface of the camera!
Filter exchange
Color cameras integrate a filter. This filter may limit the sensor use in certain applications.
To replace the filter, proceed as follows:
Place the mounting tool (1) into the sensor opening. Place both front pins into the holes provided at the filter support (2).
Turn filter support (2) until the lugs can be seen in the guide grooves (4).
Remove the filter support (2).
Carefully remove the filter (3). When doing so, do not touch the sensor!
Insert a new filter into the sensor opening.
Replace the filter support (2).
Turn the filter support (2) until the lugs are no longer visible in the guide grooves (4).
Prevent filter, sensor and lens from contamination by dust and suspended matter! Perform any filter exchange only in a dust-free room and using clean tools!
