Maintenance
The sensor is maintenance-free. No special preventive maintenance is required. Regular cleaning and visual inspection of the plug connections are recommended.
Cleaning
When used for its intended purpose, the device may need to be cleaned from time to time. To achieve the best possible operation of the device, the optical surfaces (cover glass) should be kept as clean as possible.
To check whether the camera requires cleaning, you should capture a homogenous image (a sheet of paper for example). The camera requires cleaning if the image contains dirty spots like on the following image:
Filter / Cover glass sensor
Use soft, lint free cloth dampened with small amount of pure methanol for cleaning.
Never use compressed air to clean the Filter / Cover glass, as it may force dust into the camera.
Housing
Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning of the device housing. If there are persistent stains, remove them using soft cloth dampened in small quantity of neutral detergent and then wipe dry.
Never use volatile detergents like thinner to clean the surface of the camera as it can cause damage.
Tube cover glass
For cleaning, use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the surface of the tube cover glass with a gentle pressure, without scratching.
To clean stubborn dirt, commonly available window cleaning agent is recommended.
Because there are a lot of cleaning agents on the market, we cannot test every single one to check whether it could cause damage to the device. We recommend testing the cleaning agent you want to use against a small portion of the device surface.
