Supported Cameras

The user can select the following camera sources: API, Basler, Datalogic, Toshiba Teli, and Universal.

PEKAT VISION has native support for Basler / Datalogic, and Toshiba Teli cameras. The only requirement is an installed camera driver provided by the manufacturer.

Other cameras are supported through a Universal Camera Driver. In some cases, it is necessary to provide PEKAT with the camera .cti file.

API

When selecting API, PEKAT VISION processes images sent through REST API - For more information access the following article: https://pekatvision.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB32/pages/934186915/REST+API+-+Send+Images+to+PEKAT

Script Supported Cameras

For the following camera manufacturers, the camera connection is done by a script:

  • Photoneo

Script Unsupported Cameras

For cameras that do not work with Universal Camera Driver and are not in script supported cameras list, our development team is able to develop a script. However, the camera must be shipped to our office for the script development.

For more information, please contact support at PEKAT VISION Customer Portal or contact support@pekatvision.com.

Analyse images

image-20241127-093843.png

When “Analyze incoming images“ function is enabled, PEKAT VISION processes images from the camera feed, through the software flow (modules).

Capture images

Image capturing is handled in the highlighted portion of the Camera view. When an image is captured, it is stored into the project’s database.

image-20241127-094332.png

The image capture can be either MANUAL or AUTOMATIC.

When the image capture is set to MANUAL, the images will be captured only when you press the CAPTURE” button.

When it is set to AUTOMATIC the capture will be continuous and each images obtained by PEKAT will be captured. To activate the capturing the ACTIVE” button needs to be activated.

The frequency of AUTOMATIC image capturing depends on FPS of the selected camera and PC hardware configuration.

The AUTOMATIC image capturing generates a lot of images, so use it with caution as to not fill your storage space.

Finally, if you have any Tags set up, you can automatically have a chosen tag assigned to the images captured in this way. This applies to both AUTOMATIC and MANUAL image capturing.

Native Camera Connection

Once the camera driver is installed and the camera plugged in, PEKAT VISION should automatically connect to the camera, once the camera source is selected.

You can let the application automatically adjust the camera settings or you can upload an existing settings file.

CTI Files

CTI Files are needed to be able to use cameras connected through ethernet. PEKAT automatically searches paths stored in “GENICAM_GENTL64_PATH“ enviroment variable and loads all of the CTI files that he founds. You can then manage which CTI files are active or add another CTI file stored on the computer from the CTI Manager window.

CTI Manager

To open the CTI manager window:

  1. In Select provider click on Universal

  2. Click on CTI FILES

image-20241127-102748.pngimage-20241127-114531.png

Here you can manage which CTI file is active. You can even have multiple CTI files active at once, but they can occasionally clash together, so it’s recommended that you have only one CTI file actie at a time.

By default, the MATRIX WISION CTI file is the only one active. You can activate or deactivate CTI files shown there as you want.

To add a new CTI file, you have to press the “ADD“ button, which will open a file explorer where you can locate the CTI file you want and add it.

The “ADD“ isn’t available on the internet GUI.
